Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Reviews & Information

Are you looking for healthy glowing skin? There are so many products on the market today for taking care of our precious facial skin. We look for a solution to acne, wrinkles and uneven skin tone. With so many products out on the market today, which are the ones that really deliver?

When it comes to dark spot correctors for your facial skin, there are many different products on the market. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what your budget might be, when it comes to finding solutions to our skin care problems, and even better finding a product that works, can be priceless.

About the Product

Garnier Dark Spot Corrector

One of those products is the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector. For use on dark spots, age spots and acne marks, it’s a daily moisturizer that fades discoloration for an even skin tone. The product is paired with an SPF 28 lotion for extra skin protection. While it is supposed to work to fight against hyperpigmentation, it really seems like just another general skin care cream with a new label slapped on it to attract people looking to fix dark spots.

Overall, it seems like its best used as a skin protector rather than a dark spot corrector. It has all the right nutrients and vitamins to keep your skin clean and healthy but doesn’t have a lot going on in the skin lightening department.

For an effective, fast-working dark spot corrector, be sure to try Meladerm, our #1 recommendation!

Customer Reviews

Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Customer Reviews

Of all the products we’ve reviewed, this one was one of the more interesting ones to dig up real reviews on. The official Garnier site even displays that the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector has only received a 3 out of 5 star rating from customers. They do, however, only display the 5 star ratings on the 1st page.

Other reviewers across the web seem to have a similar rating for the product. Most reviews are generally negative. Here are a few that we found:

Didn’t help diminish my dark spots at all. – Product user review on MakeupAlley.com

Been using this for over a month and it did nothing for my dark spots. Don’t waste your money. – SummerKisses88 on MakeupAlley

I used this for a month but it only reduced my pore size. It didn’t reduce or get rid of any of my dark brown spots or discoloration, in fact I have a lot more. It definately didn’t moisturize my skin. There was no improvement to skin tone or balance. I wouldn’t bother to buy this product again. – ShellBell on Ulta.com

I have been using this product for about three months, and it doesn’t work. I am going to finish the tube (about 1/3 of the way through), and if I see any results, I will update my review. But for now, I am not a satisfied customer. – L. Giles on Amazon.com

This was pretty much the response we saw no matter what website we visited. Most people flat out say that it doesn’t work and isn’t worth the money. Usually Garnier puts out decent quality products but this one is clearly a generally unfavorable one in the eyes of actual customers.

Ingredients in Garnier Dark Spot Corrector

Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Ingredients Breakdown

Here is the official list of ingredients that are found within this product:

Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Ascorbic Acid (Pure Vitamin C), Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Potassium Hydroxide, Dimethicone, Sodium Styrene/MA Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Alcohol, Benzylsalicylate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Carbomer, Citral, Citrus Medica Limonum Extract/Lemon Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Gentiana Lutea Extract/Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Geraniol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Limonene, Linalool, Nylon-12, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Salicylic Acid, Sodium, Anisate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Methylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Parfum/Fragrance.

This product is too dependent on vitamin C and water to really make any difference at all. The actual skin lightening agents in it are quite diluted and is more than likely the reason why customers have had little to no results when using it.

Our Review

TCB Garnier Dark Spot Corrector Review

In our honest opinion, it seems like Garnier really dropped the ball with this product. It feels like they just threw something on the market just to capitalize on people seeking to get rid of dark spots without making a product that is actually effective for that purpose.

There are much more reliable, affordable options out there for dark spot correctors. Our favorite so far has been Civant Skin Care’s Meladerm by a long shot. That is what we recommend readers use to diminish the appearance of dark spots, age spots, and other hyperpigmentation related issues.

With product testing and new developments in skin care, it can get hard to narrow down what works and what doesn’t. One problem women deal with is dark spots on the face. To find the best product for you, you should understand what might cause the dark spots on your face so you can make an informed decision.

Hyperpigmentation comes in many forms and can be caused by an excess production of melanin. Melanin is a class of pigment responsible for producing color in places in the body such as the hair, eyes and skin. A common type is Post Inflammatory and these are discolored or dark spots that appear on skin following healed acne areas.

Other forms of hyperpigmentation can be caused by sun damage, inflammation, certain illnesses and skin injuries. Another common problem to battle is age spots, associated with aging skin, but mostly caused by over exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Once skin gets older it is less able to regenerate from sun exposure or other types of skin damage.

We study our faces everyday trying to smooth that and pluck this, protect the precious skin we have and wading through all the different products can be quite the battle. But there are good, economical skin solutions out there and if you want to fade and clear up those dark spots, the product you will want to use should contain the ingredients that will decrease the overproduction of melanin in the affected areas.
