Tri Luma Cream review

Tri Luma Cream | Product Detail and Review

Tri-Luma cream is a popular, FDA-approved, skin lightener that can only be purchased with a valid prescription (at least in the USA). It’s headlined with a 4% hydroquinone concentration to treat the skin condition known as melasma.

Not surprisingly, the cream is also effective when used for other hyperpigmentation-related issues such as dark spots, old scars, and more.

Because it relies on a high concentration of the controversial lightening chemical Hydroquinone, this product must be obtained via a prescription.
For a safer alternative we suggest using a product made of natural-blends such as Civant Meladerm or Skinception Illuminatural - both provide great results, are reasonably priced, and won't mess with your health.

About the Product

Tri-Luma is made up of 3 important, active ingredients: Flucinolone Acetonide (0.01%), Hydroquinone (4%), and Tretinoin (0.05%). The first is a mild inflammation reducer. Hydroquinone is a widely used, yet potentially risky, skin lightening agent. And, finally, Tretinoin is another form of Vitamin A which helps to build up healthy skin cells and promote brighter skin tones.

Tri-Luma Cream

This product works by targeting the melanin in your skin. Melanin are the cells in your epidermis that control the pigments of your skin. Over-production of these cells causes hyperpigmentation (dark spots). Tri-Luma works by actively decreasing the amount of melanin that your body produces to even out your skin tones over time.

While this product has been proven to be extremely effective at lightening the skin we cannot back it. We’ve mentioned countless times that we can’t endorse anything that contains the ingredient hydroquinone. This component is banned in many countries across the globe and while it isn’t officially labeled as a carcinogen, there are potential risks involved with using it.

Tri-Luma Cream Customer Reviews

Most feedback left by real users of this product were generally happy with its performance. Many cited that it was able to clear up their dark patches or other hyperpigmentation splotches fairly quickly. This is mostly due to the fact that it contains hydroquinone, which is known to be an extremely effective skin whitener when used correctly.

Please note that when using this product you must follow strict guidelines which include, but are not limited to, avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible and not taking any other medications while using Tri-Luma. Certain ingredients in the cream increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so it’s important to avoid it when possible and also wear a strong, broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Our Review

While this product does appear to be highly effective we can’t stand by it. As we’ve said in many other skin lightener reviews on our website, True Cosmetic Beauty does not give the stamp of approval for ANY cosmetic that contains hydroquinone. There are real dangers associated with using it and morally we can’t recommend it because we fear for our readers’ safety.

Overall, we would love to say go for it, but just can’t. Based on actual customer reviews it does seem that Tri-Luma cream does work exceptionally well for melasma and other related conditions but it’s just not worth it. There are other products available that are just as effective, less-expensive, and much safer to use.
